Decision-making in a social world: Integrating cognitive ecology and social neuroscience

Understanding animal decision-making involves simultaneously dissecting and reconstructing processes across levels of biological organization, such as behavior, physiology, brain function, well considering the environment in which decisions are made. Over past few decades, foundational breakthroughs originating from a variety model systems disciplines have painted an increasingly comprehensive picture how individuals sense information, process it, subsequently modify behavior or states. Still, our understanding social contexts is far complete requires integrating novel approaches perspectives. The fields neuroscience cognitive ecology approached orthogonal integration these perspectives (and fields) critical developing testable theories brain.
